In addition we had 2 new members sign up with our club. Welcome to all the new faces and keep telling friends about our club. Thanks to everyone that jumped in and helped . It gave us the opportunity to get 4 stages (68 rounds) in. They looked to be simply stages before the buzzer went off but boy did they give folks trouble. I have attached the scores to this email. When you look at the score sheets we had Mikes and no shoots everywhere and Mark Leeber didn't even shoot. I want to also thank Peter and Kevin for taking the reins when they did and working so hard to build the club to where it is today. You are both examples of what makes participating in this sport so great. We look forward to seeing you out there when you can make it. As most of you saw in Peter's email, we have made some changes to the board structure and we look forward to continue the traditions that Dave started and Peter and Kevin pushed. We had 14 shooters including 2 new shooters. Welcome to Bill and Robert and we hope to see you on a regular basis. Again thanks to everyone who helped with the set up, scoring and RO duties. Folks as the new President of the club I do feel I need to mention that this is a volunteer driven sport. Every club I have been to struggles to get enough help on a consistent basis and any and all help is welcome. In that regard, I think it is important that we recognize those folks that are stepping up and helping make this sport such a success and as such we need be respectful of what they are doing. If you have thoughts on how to improve something, whether it be stages or how a match is being run, then please present those, but please do so in a constructive manner. As shooters we have an obligation to keep developing our sport. This includes developing more RO's. Fortunately we have had a number of folks step up to learn more about those duties and responsibilities. It makes the match more enjoyable for all if we can rotate scorers and ROs and not leave one or two people dealing with those duties all night. We will continue to work on developing people to help in those roles. Again these are volunteers that have chosen to get involved and should be treated with the same consideration you expect to be treated with. If you shoot in this sport enough in various venues you will experience RO's of all different temperaments and personalities. It's just part of the game. Finally because of the limitations created in the small area we have to work with, we will make every attempt to keep all stages in compliance with the USPSA rules however there may be some times that it simply is not in compliance but still meets the necessary requirements for safety. I welcome ideas for stage that you feel will be fun safe and help us develop into better shooter when we step outside and face the bigger matches. If you are interested in setting up a stage please let one of the board members know and we will coordinate it with you so that it can be set up and shot. Now onto the match. We shot 4 stages totaling 70 rounds. We were able to have stage that combine close and far targets, speed shooting and movement. It even tested our memory thanks to Peter's color cards.
